Role Description
The Accounting Assistant reports to the Chief Financial Officer and is mainly responsible for recording transactions on a monthly basis.
Main Responsibilities
Assists with the following:
- Daily and recurring monthly journal entries
- Posting of all journals (PP, A/R, A/P, STAT, GEN, MM, FA)
- Preparation of monthly financial reports and analysis as well as monthly disbursement schedules for ER/GPA and LEG groups
- Reporting and accruals for various programs
- Reconciliation of general ledger accounts, bank accounts and specific funding and related expenses
- Annual preliminary budget preparation
- Year-end financial analysis file
- Agency personnel financial and statistical data
- Preparation of weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual submissions
- Replacement of colleagues: Payroll Officer, Purchasing Agent and Senior Accounting Clerk
