Role Description

The Accounting Assistant reports to the Chief Financial Officer and is mainly responsible for recording transactions on a monthly basis.

Main Responsibilities

Assists with the following:

  • Daily and recurring monthly journal entries
  • Posting of all journals (PP, A/R, A/P, STAT, GEN, MM, FA)
  • Preparation of monthly financial reports and analysis as well as monthly disbursement schedules for ER/GPA and LEG groups
  • Reporting and accruals for various programs
  • Reconciliation of general ledger accounts, bank accounts and specific funding and related expenses
  • Annual preliminary budget preparation
  • Year-end financial analysis file
  • Agency personnel financial and statistical data
  • Preparation of weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual submissions
  • Replacement of colleagues: Payroll Officer, Purchasing Agent and Senior Accounting Clerk
