Position Overview
The Department of Germanic Languages and Literatures invites applications for a three‑year, full‑time, contractually limited term appointment (CLTA) at the rank of Assistant Professor, Teaching Stream, beginning on August 1, 2026.
Responsibilities
- Teach undergraduate German language courses at all levels and deliver innovative second‑language instruction.
- Prepare, deliver, and continually refine course curriculum and online materials.
- Coordinate and mentor teaching assistants and course instructors; steward course materials and curriculum delivery.
- Serve as coordinator of the German language sequence and assist with departmental administration.
- Collaborate effectively with colleagues in undergraduate courses and programs.

- Earned a PhD in German Studies (or related field) with a demonstrated record of excellence in teaching.
