Overview

Detailed overview. Under the direction of the Manager or Supervisor, the role performs pacemaker analysis and programs pacemakers to correct values/optimal settings within clinics, operating rooms or various areas of the hospital. Within the OR, assists the surgeon during implant procedures.

Responsibilities

• Performs a variety of tests such as Electro Cardiogram (ECG) testing, stress testing, Holter and pacemaker programming, monitoring and other related procedures; provides interpretations, analyses and test/summary reports, as required.
• Monitors pacemaker functions; reports on abnormalities and responds to queries including troubleshooting.
• Participates in the development and review of standards, procedures and instructional material relevant to the department's pacemaker services; assists in the training and orientation of staff and Surgery/Cardiology Residents in pacemaker functions and programming applications.
