**Description**The safety manager plays a critical role in derailment prevention and investigation in the assigned territory at KCS by providing oversight and direction to ensure the proper design, implementation, and administration of KCS safety programs, policies, and procedures to support KCS Operations objectives.
**Accountabilities**- Uses extensive knowledge of railroad operations to assess the level of compliance with all KCSM and regulatory safety rules and regulations.
- Provides guidance to leadership team on assigned territory for both strategic and tactical efforts to improve safety.
- Regularly conducts risk assessments and audits to monitor and validate compliance with all safety initiatives.
- Required to lead, or participate in joint operational testing teams.
