Purpose
The Dance Accompanist provides musical accompaniment (piano and/or percussion) for academic activities including studio classes, workshops, and performances in the BFA Program in Dance, under the direction of the Operations Manager.
Education
Completion of a post‑secondary degree in Music Performance (Piano and/or Percussion) or a related field.
Experience
Minimum of 1 year related working experience as a dance accompanist for modern/contemporary and ballet classes.
Skills
- Advanced skills in piano and/or percussion.
- Advanced skills in sight reading and improvising, with ability to improvise in different and irregular time signatures and phrasings.
