Family Physician/Clinical Associate

Position Summary

The Department of Medicine is seeking qualified hospitalists to join our General Internal Medicine Clinical Associate program. Part‑time opportunities are available, including locum positions. Clinical associates on the GIM service work as part of a team including a general internist (who is MRP), a clinical pharmacist and occasionally medical students and residents. The GIM service is one of two inpatient services which admit complex medical patients to the hospital on alternating nights. Patients admitted to the GIM service are generally multi‑system, complex medical patients and we are supported by a strong family practice program.

Responsibilities

• Manage most of the day‑to‑day operations on the GIM ward.
• Provide daily patient care, including examining patients, developing management plans, and performing procedures such as thoracentesis, paracentesis, and lumbar puncture.
