General Duty Nurse (N2) - Rehab Ambulatory Care

Position Overview

Under the general supervision of the Manager, Health Services, the Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for providing professional registered nursing services for patients, including those with complex and unpredictable health needs. This position involves several components:

• A key component of the position includes phone triage. The registered nurse must respond to patient inquiries in a timely fashion, exploring details related to their disease process or concerns, appropriately prioritise the level of concern and involve the physicians as necessary.
• Another significant component involves providing education to patients and families about the disease process and the various medications used to treat the disease. This will involve formal one‑to‑one education sessions with patients and their families.
