General Labourer

SUMMARY

Reporting to the Mill Supervisor, the General Labourer packs, ties, labels, counts and identifies wood using various handling equipment.

Main duties

• Operate wood handling equipment on the stacking line.
• Piling lumber by hand.
• Band and wrap lumber.
• Maintain a clean and organized workstation and yard.
• Adhere to all workplace safety rules and regulations.
• Adhere to customer service commitments.
• Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, skills and abilities

• Attention to detail
• Able to count and identify wood products of various sizes.
• Must have own steel-toe boots.
• Basic math skills.
• Able to lift up to 50 pounds or 23 kilograms, and heavier weights as required.
• Must be able to speak, read and write English.
