Role Description
Enhance mental health services as a Geriatric Psychiatrist in Nanaimo. You will work full time or part time, collaborating in various patient care settings while leading initiatives in the GEM program.
The Division of Geriatric Psychiatry is seeking a Geriatric Psychiatrist to engage with patients and healthcare teams. Your role involves working with complex cases, participating in the NRGH call schedule, and supporting the Island-wide Dementia Strategy. This position allows connections with patients, especially those in remote areas of Vancouver Island.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide leadership in multidisciplinary geriatric consultations
• Work with complex patients across different settings
• Participate in NRGH General Psychiatry call schedule
• Contribute to the Island Medical Program's educational initiatives
• Support the development of the Island-wide Dementia Strategy
