Role Description
Step into a vital role as a Geriatric Psychiatrist in Nanaimo, focusing on consultation and leadership in diverse care settings. Collaborate closely with a team of dedicated professionals to enhance geriatric mental health services.
The Division of Geriatric Psychiatry is looking for both full-time and part-time psychiatrists to join their team. You'll work alongside three experienced Geriatric Psychiatrists, engaging in acute inpatient, outpatient, and residential care. Opportunities for remote consultations through the NITAOP program and contributions to the Island-wide Tertiary Geriatric Psychiatry program are significant parts of this role.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide geriatric consultation across various healthcare settings
• Lead multidisciplinary GEM teams for optimal outcomes
• Participate in the NRGH General Psychiatry call rotation
• Engage in medical teaching for the Island Medical Program
• Develop strategies for the Island-wide Dementia Strategy
