DEFINITION
Under the direction of an exempt manager this position involves complex analytical, technical and supervisory responsibility in promoting, coordinating, developing and implementing the Saanich Enterprise Geographic Information System (GIS) and the interface between the GIS and other corporate programs. The incumbent researches, evaluates, prepares and makes recommendations regarding the development and maintenance of the GIS system. The incumbent works closely with the IT Division regarding GIS operations. The incumbent supervises the GIS Section and recruits GIS staff for the GIS Section.
