Role Description
Analyzing and recommending changes to existing operations, crops, livestock, staff, and financial paperwork. Preparing planting and harvesting plans and timetables, as well as ensuring that staff knows expectations. Visiting various divisions to evaluate crops and livestock, as well as conduct soil and water tests.
Keeping seeds, fertilizer, insecticides, and other supplies stocked on a regular basis. Scheduling equipment and machinery repairs, maintenance, and replacement. Handling the marketing and selling of farm products such as fruit, vegetables, dairy, meat, and grain.
Ensuring that all employees follow health and safety laws. Assisting with the hiring and training of new employees. Budgets and financial reports are prepared in collaboration with senior employees.
