Role Description
Join the innovative team at Tesla as a Mechanical Engineer Intern specializing in actuator geartrain technology. This on-site internship starts in August or September 2026 and lasts for a minimum of 12 weeks.
Tesla is seeking passionate students pursuing degrees in fields such as Mechanical Engineering or Robotics. You will engage in hands-on design and testing related to groundbreaking manufacturing technologies for the Tesla bot Optimus. Interns will actively contribute to developing next-generation actuators and their manufacturing processes in an R&D environment.
Key Responsibilities:
• Design tooling and fixtures for gearboxes
• Develop new manufacturing cells in R&D
• Qualify manufacturing processes and inspect components
• Build assemblies for process development
• Prototyping and testing of actuator systems
