Role Description
Overview
Military Interpreters work at the Halifax Citadel and Georges Island National Historic Sites, and portray both a British army soldier and gunner, circa , as well as a Canadian army gunner, circa . While in the public eye, Military Interpreters perform the role of a soldier, participate in drill training scenarios and presentations, and conduct historic weapons demonstrations. They also deliver guided site tours and other interpretive programs, and participate in a wide variety of on‑site and off‑site special events. Through participating in performances and demonstrations, and through direct interactions with the public, Military Interpreters help us accomplish our mission of connecting people with a part of what it means to be Canadian.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Participates in daily training routines and demonstrations, including foot and arms drill, sentry duty, commercial signals, gun drill, and historic weapons demonstrations.
