Mines Technologist

The Opportunity

We are currently seeking a Mines Technologist to join our Copper Cliff Mine Team in Sudbury, ON. This is a permanent position covered under the Collective Agreement between Vale and the Local United Steelworkers.

Responsibilities

• Follow Safety Plan developed for the operations department in conjunction with Mines MTS Safety Plan.
• Provide input to the Divisional Supervisor for creation of the drilling, development, and production layouts for execution by the Operating Team.
• Monitor mine development, production, and construction excavation projects with respect to lines, grade and conformance to short term production plans raising issues of non‑conformance to the Divisional Supervisor.
• Perform surveying, ventilation, microseismic and planning/scheduling functions to support short‑ and long‑term production planning requirements for the mine, reporting non‑conformance to the Divisional Supervisor.
