Role Description
Department: Laboratory
The Department of Laboratory Services at North Bay Regional Health Centre provides laboratory services to inpatients and registered outpatients. The Phlebotomist supports timely and accurate diagnostic testing through patient identification, blood collection, specimen labelling, handling, and related pre‑analytical duties, while following hospital policies, laboratory procedures, privacy requirements, and quality and safety standards.
QUALIFICATIONS
Certification/Experience/Knowledge
- Must be a graduate of a Medical Laboratory Technician Program or equivalent
- Canadian Society for Medical Laboratory Science (CSMLS) or Medical Laboratory Professionals' Association of Ontario (MLPAO) Certification required with current registration
- Recent relevant phlebotomy experience required
- Knowledge of Meditech and Mobilab preferred
- Experience in sample preparation an asset
