Overview

At WorkSafeBC, the Prevention Services division is dedicated to preventing workplace injury, illness, disease, and death. We work with employers and workers to reduce risk and keep workplaces healthy and safe through education, consultation, and enforcement.

Key Responsibilities

• Engage with workers and employers from various industries to reduce risk and keep workplaces healthy and safe through education, consultation, and enforcement.
• Anticipate, recognize, and evaluate physical, chemical, and biological health hazards, and recommend control measures.
• Investigate accidents.
• Conduct occupational hygiene assessments.
• Discuss physiology, toxicology, epidemiology, and industrial ventilation principles.
• Make and explain decisions; influence and direct actions and opinions of others, taking control of critical situations.
