Planner I, Community Planning

About the Role

Vacancy Status: This posting is for an existing vacancy.

Reporting to the Manager of Community Planning, the successful applicant will be responsible for carrying out planning assignments and supporting the Community Planning team. The Planner I will assist with research and prepare reports/presentations on a range of policy matters, including cultural heritage, agriculture, natural heritage, and land use.

This position will commence as soon as possible.

Key Responsibilities

• Undertaking and/or assisting with policy planning projects such as the Official Plan review, download of the Region of Durham Official Plan, Secondary Plans, and other policy matters.
• Preparing briefs and assisting in the preparation of reports, planning comments and other documents on a range of matters.
• Supporting coordination of Advisory Committees of Council and the Department.
