Plant Operator (On site)

Summary

The primary function and purpose of this position is to oversee and ensure the proper operation of plant production facilities. The position is located at the St Romuald plant.

Key Responsibilities

• Operates air separation plant and pipeline backup system.
• Ensures safe start-up, operation and shut-down of plant operations.
• Ensures compliance with procedures established by the Large Industries Group.
• Carriers out tests to verify plant performance, as required.
• Ensures equipment maintenance: makes recommendations to supervisor based on observations of equipment operation and ensures periodic monitoring of equipment.
• Familiar with properties of industrial gases and cleaning methods for the oxygen department.
• Supervises subcontractors as needed.
• Responds to equipment breakdowns.
