Role Description
POSTDOCTORAL RESEARCHER
Position available in the Epithelial Morphogenesis group at the Institute of Biotechnology, University of Helsinki. Employment fixed-term 2 years, possible extension until August 31, 2029. A six-month trial period will apply.
Responsibilities
Work in the Epithelial Morphogenesis group led by Dr. Marja Mikkola. Use molecular, cellular, transcriptomic, and advanced imaging techniques. Investigate signaling pathways in growth control and branching morphogenesis in developing mammary gland. Conduct experiments on mouse mutants, use single-cell RNA sequencing, live confocal whole‑mount imaging. Develop independent research and potentially supervise students and staff. Participate in short visits to collaborators’ labs in Europe.
Qualifications
- PhD degree in cell/molecular biology, developmental biology, genetics, biomedicine, or related field.
