Role Overview
We are seeking a Registered Nurse to join our Aids Prevention Program as a Harm Reduction Nurse, dedicated to delivering compassionate patient care within a client‑ and family‑centered model.
Responsibilities
The Harm Reduction Nurse functions as a member of the larger Mental Health & Substance Use teams and collaborates with a multidisciplinary team to provide direct, low‑barrier, trauma‑informed care for individuals with physical and mental health needs, substance use disorders, and/or structural barriers to care.
- Perform physical, psychosocial, and substance use assessments.
- Provide HIV, HCV, and STI education, testing, and treatment.
- Administer and titrate medication.
- Respond to overdoses.
- Support and refer clients to other health and social services.
