About This Unit
Located at Mount Sinai Hospital, this 30-bed unit provides comprehensive care for orthopedic oncology and trauma patients. The orthopaedic oncology population consists of patients diagnosed with a rare type of cancer called sarcoma. This is the largest multidisciplinary program of its type in Canada. Patients receive all of their cancer care needs on one unit — from diagnosis, staging, to treatment, to cure or palliative care when required.
