Responsibilities

• Administer medications.
• Apply aseptic techniques, including sterile dressing.
• Ensure infection control.
• Observe and record medication's therapeutic and side effects.
• Record medication's therapeutic and side effects observations in patient files.
• Take vital signs.
• Monitor established respiratory therapy and intravenous therapy.
• Provide safety and health education to individuals and their families.
• Provide nursing services, within the defined scope of practice, to patients based on patient assessment and care planning procedures.
• Monitor patients' progress, evaluate effectiveness of nursing interventions, and consult with appropriate members of the healthcare team.

Qualifications

• Eligible for licensure as a practical nurse by the relevant province/territory.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) Certificate.
