Detailed Overview

Under the direction of a therapist such as a physiotherapist, assists in implementing and carrying out assigned safe patient handling program elements to meet the needs of staff and patients at the designated site. Functions as a support person to assist staff with safe patient handling challenges in an effort to provide safe patient care. Monitors therapy equipment such as mobility and assistive devices and supplies including maintaining inventories. Responsibilities Assists in organizing, preparing and implementing safe patient handling program elements for staff and patients as part of an inter-professional team at assigned locations/units/departments; provides input into the implementation of patient mobility decision tools, documentation processes and other patient handling resource materials.
