Senior Counsel Derivatives, Global Asset Management

BMO Financial Group is seeking a full-time lawyer to join the legal team in Toronto as Senior Counsel responsible for providing legal support, with a focus on derivatives, to BMO Global Asset Management’s manufacturing of retail and institutional investment products, including the BMO Mutual Funds, BMO Exchange Traded Funds, BMO AM Pooled Funds and alternative products.

Responsibilities

• Act as a subject matter expert on relevant laws, regulations and policies relating to listed and OTC derivatives, including options, forward contracts, futures, swaps and other derivatives instruments.
• Draft and negotiate derivatives documentation, including ISDAs, credit support annexes, account control agreements, broker agreements, onboarding documents and ancillary documentation.
• Provide derivatives transactional support, with a focus on equity and interest rate derivatives, including drafting and reviewing ISDA trade confirmations.
