Senior Technical Writer, ILS Support

Location: Halifax - Wilkinson, Canada

Thales is seeking a Senior Technical Writer to maintain and revise existing Canadian Forces Technical Orders (CFTOs), incorporating updates from OEM manuals, equipment specifications, and preventive maintenance routines. The role requires strong technical writing and configuration management skills, editorial expertise — including grammar, consistency, and formatting — to ensure all publications are clear, accurate, and compliant with National Defence standards.

Regulatory Compliance Requirements

• Direct or indirect access to hardware, software, or technical information controlled under the Canadian Export Control List and/or the US Export Administration Regulations (EAR) is required.
• Applicants must be eligible or able to obtain the necessary authorisations, including Canadian Controlled Goods Program and Canadian NATO Secret clearance.
