Senior Underwriter Property and Casualty

Overview

Reporting to the VP of National Property and Casualty, the Senior Property & Casualty Underwriter will manage a profitable portfolio and lead underwriting strategy across Canada.

Responsibilities

• Underwrite new business and renewals in a profitable manner, following established guidelines and authority levels.
• Create and grow a profitable book of business, using underwriting tools to determine accurate classifications, rates, and premium charges.
• Partner with specialty line underwriters to leverage multi‑line opportunities.
• Build and strengthen broker relationships through underwriting meetings, broker events, and industry conferences.
• Adhere to company underwriting guidelines and draft comprehensive referrals as required.
• Mentor junior team members on technical underwriting matters.
• Stay abreast of market intelligence and industry trends.
