Course Description: This course introduces historical, literary, and anthropological issues related to the consumption of food in East Asia. Through a wide variety of reading materials, it focuses on the relationship between various foodways and trade, ritual, religion, medicine, and cultural identity.

Estimated course enrolment: 100 students

Estimated TA support: 90 Hours

Class schedule: In-person lectures Tuesdays & Thursdays 11am-1pm
