Student Research Assistant

Position Summary

This position involves paid data collection activities in family homes for a research study on child and language development. Data collection will occur at four sessions per family. The role includes observation, facilitation of French-language sessions, and supporting the doctoral candidate.

Responsibilities

• Attend off-campus 1‑hour home visits with the doctoral candidate and with parents and preschool children.
• Ensure overall safety and compliance with data collection protocols (e.g., no alone with child, parents feel safe).
• Lead the conduction of in‑home data‑collection protocols for French‑language sessions.
• Assist the doctoral candidate during all other home visits with ad‑hoc requests (preparing paperwork, setting up materials, handling technology, camera setup, etc.).
• Take observational notes about home visits that aid final data analysis.
