Tax Specialist - Montevideo Regional Office, Uruguay

Main purpose Assist in managing the tax position of all Trafigura group companies in their operations across the Latam region, with special focus on jurisdictions such as Peru, Mexico, Argentina, Colombia, Bolivia, Brazil and Chile. The Trafigura tax department supporting the group’s operations across the Latam region is based in the Montevideo regional hub (Uruguay). Functions are not focused in tax compliance and routine filing obligations of a given jurisdiction (day to day management of this function is performed mainly by local Accounting teams), but instead is focused in providing timely and accurate advice to the commercial team, assisting in M&A projects (tax related items), manage tax related litigation and audits, and monitoring compliance with transfer pricing rules across all LATAM countries.
