Role Description
Wilfrid Laurier University is seeking an instructor for CH202: Organic Chemistry I for the Spring 2027 semester in Waterloo. This in-person course covers the fundamentals of organic chemistry for a class size of 80 students.
In this role, the instructor will present critical content on carbon compounds, functional groups, and a variety of organic reactions. A Master’s degree in Chemistry or a related field is required, with a preference for candidates who also have a PhD or are actively pursuing further education. Teaching experience in similar subjects is highly valued to enrich course delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct in-person lectures for up to 80 participants
• Discuss key organic chemistry themes including nomenclature
• Analyze stereochemistry and reaction types with students
• Facilitate learning on radical reactions and synthesis
• Collaborate closely with lab instructors for the course
