Responsibilities

• Plan or adjust routes based on changing conditions, using computer equipment, global positioning systems (GPS) or other navigation devices, to minimize fuel consumption and carbon emissions.
• Provide professionalism in customer service.
• Arrange travel, related itineraries and make reservations.
• Load and unload goods.
• Oversee condition of vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage and other equipment.
• Perform pre-trip, en route and post-trip inspections and oversee all aspects of vehicle.
• Record cargo information, hours of service, distance travelled and fuel consumption.

Qualifications and Certifications

• Class 1/1F/A Licence (semi trailer trucks).
• Air Brake (Z) Endorsement.
• Driver logbook documentation knowledge.
