Unit Clerk - Ambulatory Care (Winnipeg)

Position Overview

Reporting to the Manager Health Services or Nurse In-Charge and working as part of a multidisciplinary team, the incumbent receives patients to the clinic/unit and ensures appropriate documentation is completed accurately.

Responsibilities

• Receive patients and conduct initial assessments.
• Ensure all patient records and documentation are accurate and complete.
• Answer telephone calls, determine urgency, forward calls or relay messages.
• Obtain, assemble, and maintain patient charts.
• Transcribe physicians’ orders.
• Schedule appointments and tests for patients and obtain test results.
• Perform a variety of tasks to promote patient comfort.
• Prepare payroll information for the area.
• Maintain clinic/unit supplies and inventory.
• Compile statistical information and perform other miscellaneous duties as required.
